The Work, Life, Leisure and Cost equation

Our career and the work we do is the largest component of our lives. Moreover, through our work we gain personal satisfaction and feelings of achievement, perhaps personal status and belonging and, importantly, the money we earn enables so much else in our and our family’s lives, to be achieved.

Why then do most people leave their careers to chance and spend so little on maximising achievement? In other areas we readily spend large amounts on the maintenance of our cars, our houses and ourselves in Health clubs but not on the career which supports them.

Are you good at maths? Then think about a proposition where you did believe in yourself, did invest and then got the job. What if spending £1000 on your career did achieve a 10% salary increase, how long would it take to get your money back and how better off would you be over the rest of your career?

Try our calculator below now. Remember you wouldn’t stop there, once people take control of their careers they continue to advance with the appropriate growth in remuneration.

Enter your current salary in the box below. Then click 'calculate' and we will then tell you how quickly you will get back your £1,000 investment, and how better off you would be over the course of 20 years:
